Most writing on personal development is either soft and esoteric, or terse and mechanical. A lot of it is bullshit. So I try to toe the line in-between (minus the bullshit).

The newsletter is a mix of things I’m thinking about, so it can vary quite a bit in the subject matter. But it always tries to do the same thing: bring up a source of wisdom, ask what it means for our lives, and think about ways we can use it. What can we learn from mimetic theory, or flyloops or TikTok? I try to keep things idiosyncratic, but actionable.

When it comes to sources, I am extremely tradition-agnostic. Wisdom can come from many places, so quality is more important than origin. For inspiration, I tend to draw from philosophers, teachers, and people who have mastered their crafts. I like thinking about knowledge as a giant stack, with people in the present building off what others have already figured out.

I try to be lighthearted, but I take the subject matter seriously. I wish I were funnier, but you gotta work with what you’re given. I’m working on it, I promise.

Ultimately, this is about connecting with brilliant, like-minded people, and bringing you on the journey of my own self-exploration. The hope is that my process of stumbling, and learning, and fucking-up will be useful for you, and entertaining.

Subscribe to join a community of people working on themselves in a practical, human, non-bullshitty kind of way. Do it.
